The chapter specifically identifies two Creatures, or Beasts as some translations call them. The first beast is developed in Johns detail within verses 1 thru 8. The second creature is developed within verses 11 thru 18; in fact John identifies the second in verse 18 with the marker "666"
note that "666" is the 'clue' that calls for 'careful thought' aka (wisdom) to enable the reader to identify, specifically, the SECOND creature.
John goes to certain lengths in his narrative (verses 12 and 14b) to state the second creature (666) is a separate "entity" from the First (/w 7 heads)
The Revelation is clear as well in Chapter 19 verse 19 & 20, There one can read that John further distinguishes between the [666] creature, and "The False Prophet"
The latter not to be confused with the term "antiChrist" as you should know (2 John 1:7)
So one would think after almost 2000 years this infamous creature {666} could and even should be known with confidence and without question...
I think i finally got it understood well enough that i can "calculate with confidence"
